In 2000, Jeff was honored by the Baptist Association of Christian Educators as the Outstanding Young Christian Education Leader. He is married and has three children.

PHIL NEWBERRY is Student Minister at the Bellevue Baptist Church of Cordova, Tennessee, where he has served for 23 years, 20 of those years with Dr. Adrian Rogers. Prior to Bellevue, Phil served as student minister at the First Baptist Church of Dallas, under Dr. W.A. Criswell. Phil is widely recognized as a mentor of student ministers. He is married and has two children.

SHELLY TAYLOR is Director of Preschool Ministries at the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, Florida. Previously she served as preschool director at the First Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas, and as a public school teacher. She holds a master's degree in Christian education and childhood ministry, and has done extensive writing for LifeWay Publishing. Shelly is married and has three children.

The JUMPSTART participant book is both practical and inclusive in that it contains an expanded version of the actual video lesson content and a discussion guide for each of the five modules. One book instead of five separate books also encourages cross-training, and enables age group leaders to understand what other age group leaders are doing and how the learning process develops over time. Participants will find the book to be a helpful resource for years to come.

LEADER GUIDE EASY TO USE

A staff member or qualified volunteer will want to use the leader guide to plan and implement a JUMPSTART workshop. It contains tips for scheduling, leading discussion, making application and solving problems. The leader guide also includes JUMPSTART speakers' insights and suggested answers to discussion questions.

TOMMY SANDERS is currently Director, Master of Arts in Childhood Ministry, Dallas Baptist University. Prior to this he served as children's minister at the Park Cities Baptist Church, Dallas, and at the Hyde Park Baptist Church of Austin, Texas. He continues to teach in the children's ministry at Park Cities. He has written several books on childhood learning published by Broadman/Holman and LifeWay Press. He is currently completing his Ph.D. in leadership studies. Tommy is married and has three children.
